Viruses are micro-organisms that are parasitic by infecting or utilizing biological organisms from other living things such as humans, animals, plants as their hosts. There are many types of viruses that attack humans and cause disease and even threaten human life.
The following are diseases caused by viral infections, as reported by various sources:
1. AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome)
This disease is caused by HIV (Human Immuno-deficiency Virus) and also called Lymphadenopathy Associated Virus (LAV). This virus attacks the body's immune system and can be transmitted through fluid contact, including sexual activity, the use of used needles for HIV sufferers, and women with HIV who are pregnant with a fetus.
AIDS is a deadly disease and there is no cure or vaccine. Symptoms of AIDS sufferers are fever, night sweats, glandular swelling, weakness, continued weight loss.
If someone is infected with the HIV virus, then that person does not have an immune system, so if the person has the flu or other diseases it will be very difficult to recover. 2. Polio

3. Hepatitis
Hepatitis is a disease caused by hepatitis A, B, non A and non B viruses. Hepatitis is known as jaundice or liver because this virus attacks the liver. Symptoms experienced by people infected with this virus are high fever, cough, weakness, sore throat, headache, no appetite, joint pain, abdominal pain. People with bird flu usually have direct contact with birds infected with the H5N1 virus.
This virus is very dangerous because thousands of people have died after being infected with this virus, maintaining environmental cleanliness, food and drink is important to avoid transmission of this virus.

6. Rabies
This disease is caused by the rabies virus which belongs to the family of Rhabdovirus. Rabies is a disease that attacks the central nervous system which is transmitted through the bite of animals that have been exposed to rabies, including dogs, cats and apes. The virus then attacks the nervous system which causes the sufferer to experience nerve disorders.
7. Measles
Measles is a highly contagious acute disease caused by the measles virus, from the family Paramyxovirus genus Morbillivirus. Measles is also called rubeola, morbilli, or measles.
This disease is characterized by early symptoms of fever, cough, runny nose, and conjunctivities which are then followed by reddish spots on the skin. Measles is transmitted through droplets in the air by sufferers from 1 day before symptoms develop until 4 days after the appearance of the rash.
8. Influenza
If pain is caused by a virus this one must have been felt by most people. The name influenza virus causes you to get the flu. This virus is very contagious and transmitted through the air by coughing or sneezing can also be transmitted through the hands that come into contact with people affected by influenza.
The virus attacks the respiratory system so that people infected with the virus have difficulty breathing, the symptoms felt for someone infected with this virus are runny nose, fever, dry cough and phlegm cough, itchy esophagus, congestion, runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose and red and the body feels sore or uncomfortable in general. Sometimes symptoms of nausea and vomiting can occur, especially in children.
